Job Description:
A DevOps Engineer on the Google Cloud Platform (AWS/GCP) is responsible for the continuous delivery and deployment of applications and services on the AWS/GCP infrastructure. They work closely with development and operations teams to automate the software development lifecycle, implement infrastructure as code, and ensure that the services are highly available, scalable, and secure.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and deploying scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant system on AWS/GCP.
- Automating software deployment, testing, and configuration management processes using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Jenkins.
- Monitoring and optimizing the performance of AWS/GCP infrastructure and applications.
- Collaborating with development teams to ensure the smooth deployment of applications to production.
- Implementing security measures to protect sensitive data and prevent cyber-attacks.
- Troubleshooting production issues and providing support for application and infrastructure-related problems.
- Staying up-to-date with new technologies and best practices in DevOps and cloud computing.
- Participating in capacity planning and demand forecasting to ensure the appropriate scaling of AWS/GCP infrastructure.
Preferred Qualification & Skills:
- The ideal candidate for a DevOps Engineer on AWS/GCP position should have a strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience with AWS/GCP services.
- Additionally, they should have experience with automation tools, scripting languages such as Python or Ruby, and a good understanding of software development principles and methodologies.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
